THE FASTEST AND CHEAPEST WAY TO GROW HAIR
Today I will be sharing with you one of the cheapest ways to grow your hair. It doesn't matter if it's relaxed or natural(virgin). It might sound both new and impossible to some who are reading this article, but the rice water treatment has been existing for centuries now with the origin beginning from the Yao women of Huangluo village in Guangxi province, Southern China. These women have one thing in common which is their average hair length of about 6ft. They believe that having long hair is a sign of good health and has even made it to the Guinness Book of Worlds Record as the "world's longest hair village."
Although the rice water is also good for facial treatment, I will be exclusively centred on the hair benefits.
The protein in rice water helps strengthen hair shafts, detangles and improves hair elasticity, reduces hair fiction and split ends, cures dandruff, increases hair mass, leaves hair shiny and gets rid of dandruff.
How to make rice water
There are three different methods in making rice water:
1. Boiling method
Put about 1/2 a cup of uncooked rice into a pot of at most, 2 times the usual amount of water you use in cooking your rice, depending on the amount of water you need. When boiled for 15-20 minutes, strain out the water into a bowl and leave to cool. When cooled, your boiled rice water is ready.
2. Soaking method
Put your 1/2 cup of uncooked, thoroughly washed rice into a bowl of water and leave to soak for about 12-24 hours. Then extract the water and dispose of your rice. The water is ready.
3. Fermented method
Now this method works best as the PH level in this water is already at the same level as your hair. This is the method used by the Yao women in China.
In preparing this water, use the soaking method but before straining the water, leave for about 2 days or more. When your water begins to smell, you're good to go.
You can add lemon juice into the water while it's left to ferment to help with the smell. Personally, it smells like palm wine to me💆♀️.
Which ever method you use will help you achieve your goals as it has helped my almost 3 years old hair.
The rice water treatment can be used as a hair rinse after shampooing or used as a conditioning treatment by leaving on hair for 15-30 minutes and then rinsed off. It can also be used as a daily moisturizer.
The next time you boil rice, think twice before throwing your water away.
